Method
- Begin by portioning the ground beef into 4 equal amounts.
- Place a tortilla on your work surface and evenly spread one portion of ground beef over its entire surface, ensuring coverage.
- Season the upper side of the ground beef with a good amount of salt and pepper to suit your taste.
- Heat a skillet or griddle to medium-high heat and lightly coat the cooking surface with oil.
- Gently lay the tortilla with the meat-side down onto the heated surface, applying slight pressure with a spatula for a brief moment to form a thin patty.
- Allow the patty to cook for approximately 2 - 3 minutes, until a delightful golden-brown crust forms. At this point, flip the patty and crown it with a slice of cheese.
- Continue the cooking process for an additional 1 - 3 minutes, depending on your desired level of tortilla crispness. Exercise caution to avoid any charring.
- Remove the smash taco burger from the heat.
- Repeat the cooking process for each taco.
- Assemble the smash taco burgers adding the burger sauce, lettuce, onions, and pickles.
- Serve and enjoy!
