Crushed Oreo Red Velvet Cookies

Deliciously soft red velvet cookies with a twist of crushed Oreos and white chocolate chips.

Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoon baking soda
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups salted butter softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups brown sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 bottles red food coloring liquid, 5-6oz total
Add-ins
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 22 Oreos

Equipment

  • Stand Mixer
  • Food Processor
  • Cookie Sheet
  • Parchment Paper

Method
 

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, beat your butter until soft and airy. Then add your sugar and brown sugar and beat until combined.
  2. Add your eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring and beat until combined.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine your flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Then add mixture to your wet ingredients and beat until combined.
  4. In a food processor add 6 of your Oreos and blend until finely crushed. Lightly break up the remaining 16 Oreos using your hands.
  5. Add all of your Oreos and white chocolate chips to your batter. Fold using your hands or spatula.
  6. Using a tablespoon, scoop out a heaping ball of dough. Roll out each ball of dough. You should get about 20.
  7. Place balls on prepared cookie sheet lined with parchment paper, keeping 2 inches of space in between them. Lightly press down each cookie.
  8. Place your tray of cookies in the fridge for 30 minutes to let the dough chill.
  9. Bake cookies at 375 degrees for 12 minutes. Let cool and enjoy!

Notes

For an extra twist, try adding a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking. Ensure the food coloring is liquid for even coloring.
