  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 1 egg beaten for egg wash

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to smooth out any creases. Using a star-shaped cookie cutter, cut out star shapes from the pastry.
  3. Place the star cutouts on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with the beaten egg to give them a golden color when baked.
  4. Bake the puff pastry stars in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are puffed and golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  6. To assemble, spread a generous dollop of the cream cheese mixture onto each puff pastry star. Top with a teaspoon of cranberry pepper jelly.
  7. Garnish with a small sprig of fresh parsley or mint for a pop of color and added flavor.
