Crescent Twirls
  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough 8 oz
  • 8 oz cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup pepper jelly
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream cheese, pepper jelly, chives, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and well blended.
  4. Place a heaping tablespoon of the mixture at the wide end of each triangle.
  5. Roll up the dough from the wide end to the tip, enclosing the filling.
  6. Arrange the rolled crescents on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  9. Let cool for a few minutes before serving warm.
