  • butter or oil for cooking for a crispy crust

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until fully incorporated and smooth.
  2. Place a large skillet over medium heat and add butter or oil. Allow it to melt completely.
  3. Dip each slice of cinnamon swirl bread into the custard mixture, coating both sides thoroughly. Let any excess drip off.
  4. Cook the custard-soaked bread slices in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to make the creamy glaze.
  6. Drizzle the creamy glaze over the cooked French toast slices and serve immediately.

Notes

Use a thick, soft bread like brioche or challah for best results. Adjust the glaze consistency with more milk if needed.
