Description

A cozy, savory baked rice dish made with French onion soup, beef broth, and butter. Perfect as a comforting side or an easy main.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ¼ cups long grain white rice (uncooked)
  • 1 (14.5 oz) can beef broth
  • 1 (10.5 oz) can French onion soup
  • 1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter, cold and sliced into pats
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the uncooked rice evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Pour the beef broth over the rice, followed by the French onion soup. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Arrange the butter pats evenly over the top of the rice mixture.
  5. Cover the dish tightly with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and return to the oven to bake for another 25 minutes, uncovered.
  7. Let the dish rest for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use long grain white rice for the best results; brown rice will require more liquid and cook time.
  • Add rotisserie chicken or sautéed mushrooms to make it a complete meal.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
